As Christians, we learn to love one another. As Christian website owners we need to learn to “link love” one another.
Link love is the term we use to when one blogger or website owner adds a link to another blog or website on their own pages.
I know that for some it may be difficult to give up some space on your website to promote another site, but we need to do what Christ teaches us – give.
There are benefits that come with link loving one another.
First of all, you are spreading the word about a quality post that may otherwise not be read by many people. I’ve found some really great posts that have been a blessing to me. I like to highlight some of these posts, and share the blessing with others on my site.
The other benefit that I’ve discovered is that the visitors from their websites will drop by my website to take a look. I always like to leave a comment or an email that lets them know that their site has been highlighted on mine.
I’ve received quite a few new visitors to my site through my link loving other Christian websites.
I want to challenge any Christian with a website to take some time and look around the web for other Christian websites that are offering quality information that can be beneficial to your visitors. Add a link to their site on your site. Then let them know what you did. I always like to hear when one of my posts or graphics are linked to on another site.
You’ll find that what the Scripture promises is true – give and you will receive. You’ll find that your site will be receiving some new visitors that will want to know more about what you are offering.
I do have one word of advice: Be sincere. (That’s two words, but oh well.)
Don’t just highlight another site’s page just to get visitors. Just like in life, fake flattery can be seen a mile away.
I sometimes spend hours looking for posts that are especially informative before including them in my “You’re Gonna Be Blessed” posts.
So, let’s begin spreading the blessing.
Let’s link love one another.
Thanks,
Sam
